I was sitting on the deck with my brothers…

I was sitting on the deck with my brothers this past Sunday having breakfast, chatting about kids and family and work, like we do sometimes. The subject of the Career Imagination Lab came up and my brother Ben says, “You need to do one on safety.” Then quickly he adds, “And risk.” And a whole new workshop just flows out of him:

·      Safety Best Practices & Protocols

·      Managing Risk

·      AI for Managers

·      HR & Leadership

·      Developing Effective Business Cases

Of course I point out that while I know quite a bit about some of these things, he’s the real expert and he absolutely must do it with me. I tell him about how we’ll write and record the videos and who will want them. I tell him we’ll do live events too. I remind him of a workshop we gave to the EOCP in Kamloops many years ago, and tell him he was the real star. He disagreed, saying it was all me, but it doesn’t matter. We were good together.

So I’m happy to tell you this new workshop is in development. We’re meeting next week to write the bulk of it before I go away and do more research. Maybe we’ll call it something like, “Management for Government & Mid-sized Organizations”. Not a pretty title, but it’s true.

We should have it ready some time this summer because the bulk of the research already exists in Ben’s decades of experience. It’s targeted at CUPE and other government unions who serve public works and similar operators.

What would you like us to include? Tell us by email.

Or you can follow the development of this course by watching this blog space, signing up for our newsletter below, or checking back in the dog days of summer.
