A Playbook for the Future of Work

When it’s time for a change, stretch your Career Imagination, make a plan and end up where you belong.

A Playbook for the Future of Work: Navigating the 21st Century Labour Market is for people who are grappling with the challenges of staying relevant, staying engaged, and finding fulfilment in their jobs. In it I ask you to consider what your work would look like if there were no limits, no doubts, no distractions. What makes you feel like you’re doing what you were meant to do? What does your ideal workday feel like? Imagine the sky at its bluest. We call this process of dreaming Career Imagination. It starts with believing that your dream can come true, no matter who you are, because wonderful careers are for ordinary people, it’s true every day.

A Playbook for the Future of Work is two books in one. The first half is rooted in extensive research and real people's stories — I spoke to more than a hundred professionals to find out what actually leads to career success for ordinary people with ordinary educations and usually some big dreams. The second half puts that knowledge to work, so that you can turn an idea into goals, and goals into reality.

The Career Imagination Workbook

The right questions, asked in the right order, provide the motivation you need to get started. This workbook is 90 pages of exercises that take you from "what do I really want?" all the way to a plan you're genuinely excited about. It covers everything from Career Imagination through a development process, so that you can turn an idea into goals, and goals into reality.

This is where the real work happens — and where your career plan gets built. It's designed to be worked through alongside the Career Development Workshop, so that every answer, and your eventual plan, are entirely your own.

But honestly, it has a life of its own. Grab a coffee and settle in. You might be here a while.

Available in fillable PDF format when purchased with the book or our 5-part Career Development Workshop.
